煤矿污水来源
开采煤使原来水质良好的地下水受到污染，大量煤粉。岩石粉尘、悬浮物、人为污染和微生物进入水中，有的煤矿水中悬浮物、化学需氧量、硫化物和总硬度等较高。所以，煤矿排放大量**标污水不经处理直接排放，造成水质污染、地下水系统破坏，使很多煤矿生产、生活用水无源。煤矿污水是一种宝贵的资源，如何处理回用，多年来做了大量工作，取得了一定成绩。但是，目前国内采用的处理方法仍然是传统工艺，该工艺虽然处理回用水效果较好，但工艺落后，设备、设施复杂，工程投资大，占地面积多，运行费用高，操作管理不方便，所以，多年来没有在全国普遍推广应用。
煤矿污水水质特点
煤矿煤矿污水包括：煤炭开采过程中地下地质性涌渗水到巷道为安全生产而排出的自然地下水，井下采煤生产过程中洒水、降尘、灭火灌浆、消防及液压设备产生的含煤尘污水。煤矿污水的特征如下：
煤矿污水水质水量变化较大，污染物浓度偏低，煤矿污水可生化性好，处理难度小。
不同煤矿的煤矿水水质有很大差异，其水质与普通地表水和地下水的水质有明显的差异，具有明显的煤炭行业的特征，主要有： 
1)、煤矿污水的悬浮物含量明显**地表水，且很不稳定，感官性状差。 
2)、悬浮物粒度小、比重轻、沉降速度慢，煤矿水中悬浮颗粒直径较小，平均只有2～8um，总悬浮物中约85％以上的粒径在50um以下；煤粉的平均密度一般只有1．3～1．6g／cm3，明显小于地表水中泥砂颗粒物的平均密度1．9～ 62．6g／cm3。 
3)、含**污染物。地表水中一般不含有**物，而在煤矿污水中，除了煤粉本身就是**物以外，水体中还含有少量的废机油、乳化油、腐烂废坑木、井下粪便等**物。 
4)、混凝过程中矾花形成困难，沉降效果差。 
5)、煤矿污水的煤粉仅为悬浮物，并不是耗氧**污染物。不同的含悬浮物煤矿水CODcr差异大，但CODcr是由于煤屑中**碳分子的还原性所致，故一般需要要进行生化处理。煤矿污水处理设备的工艺特点
